- Toggle Paperclip Necklace with a Phaistos Disc charm. The chain is made of stainless steel and the disc is made of 14k gold over sterling silver. The necklace is very durable and hypoallergenic. It is water-resistant, nickel free and lead free. This toggle necklace is available only in gold.* The Phaistos Disk is a disk of fired clay from the Minoan palace of Phaistos on the island of Crete, possibly dating to the middle or late Minoan Bronze Age (second millennium BC). The disk is about 15 cm (5.9 in) in diameter and covered on both sides with a spiral of stamped symbols. Its purpose and its original place of manufacture remain disputed.
